Getting to Kennett Square The Philadelphia International Airport is the closest airport. It is about 45 - 60 minutes away, depending on the time of day and traffic. The Baltimore Washington International Airport is about 1 ½ to 2 hours away. If you fly into Philadelphia and do not get a rental car, the easiest transportation to use is a taxi to the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport 24-7. The trip will cost about $85.00 per taxi and most taxis can transport up to 4 people. There are also shuttle vans available at the airport to the hotel. You make a phone call after getting your luggage. They charge per person. Go to Ground Transportation Information to get the numbers for the shuttles. If you are driving, here are some directions: From Philadelphia International Airport - Depart the airport and follow signs to I-95 S. Take I-95 S to exit 3A/US-322 W towards West Chester. Turn left onto US-1 S/Baltimore Pike. The hotel is 11 miles ahead on the right. From the East / Philadelphia - take I-95 S to 322 W/West Chester. Turn left onto US-1 S. The hotel is 11 miles ahead on the right. From the North / West Chester / King of Prussia - take US-202 S. Turn right onto US-1 S. The hotel is approximately 10 miles ahead on the right. From the South / Wilmington - take DE-52 N. Turn left onto US-1 S. The hotel is approximately 3 miles ahead on the right. From the West / Pittsburgh - Exit 312 from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) onto PA-100 S toward West Chester. Stay straight to go onto US-202 S. Stay on US 202 until intersection with US-1. Turn right onto US-1 S. Follow about 10 miles to hotel on right. From the Southwest / Baltimore - I-95 N through Baltimore. After crossing the bridge on I-95 over the Susquehanna River, you go up a hill to a toll plaza. Immediately after the toll plaza, exit I-95 following the Perryville (exit 93 for Route 222) signs. Get in right lane for the toll. Turn right at light going North onto Route 222 to 275. (If you turn left at this light, there is a truck stop with gas station, food, and clean restrooms. It is a good place to stop.) Continue on 275 N (222 makes a left turn) until it dead ends at a stop sign. Turn right onto route 276 N. Proceed about 10 minutes until you get to US - 1. You will know that Route 1 is close because you will have to go around a small traffic circle. Be careful, it is somewhat confusing. You want to end up directly across from where you start into the circle. Bear right onto Route 1 N and go about 20 miles (most of this is on a 4-lane bypass). You will go past exit signs for such towns as Oxford, West Grove, Avondale, Toughkenamon, and Kennett Square, but keep going. The hotel will be on your left on Route 1 shortly after the bypass ends. From the time you leave I-95, it is about 45 minutes to the hotel. |
