Slide Set #1 - CHRYSANTHEMUMS IN NEW ZEALAND. This set covers mum shows on both the North and South Islands of this most interesting country Along with show pictures there are many shots of growers' gardens and growing methods, plus pictures of the magnificent island scenery. The commentary is well written and makes a most enjoyable program.

Slide Set #2 - INTERNATIONAL CHRYSANTHEMUM CONVENTION, LONDON, ENGLAND, 1985. Ralph Parks has put together an interesting set of slides which includes many pictures of the English shows and their growing and exhibiting methods. They differ in many ways from the American growers' ideas on mum culture. The slides are accompanied by an interesting and informative commentary by Ralph Parks.

Slide Set #3 - GROWING THE 1000-BLOOM PLANTS BY THE JAPANESE. This set will prove most interesting to the growers who are really into growing beautiful pot plants. There are step by step photos that give real inside information on how this remarkable result is achieved by these growing artists.

Slide Set #4 - JANUARY TO SHOWTIME WITH MUMS. This is a general survey of chrysanthemum growing. It provides answers to most questions covering mums. In particular, it offers information on propagation and culture, insects and diseases, shading for early bloom, frost and winter protection, classification and selection and grooming for a show.

Slide Set #5 - SHOW MUMS GROWN BY AN OCTOGENARIAN. This set was prepared by Harold Beals of New Rochelle, NY. It is a personal, detailed account of growing mums throughout the year. It shows how he was able to grow many top prize-winning blooms for his chapter's show, along with a sweepstakes award.

Slide Set #6 - JAPANESE INTERNATIONAL SHOW, 1987. This set includes commentary by Ralph Parks. Many pictures show the beautiful gardens open to visitors and the many chrysanthemum displays in different parts of the city of Tokyo. To this are added views of their magnificent national show. The magnitude of this show is breathtaking, to say the least.

Slide Set #7 - PICTORIAL CLASSIFICATION OF MUM TYPES. The 13 NCS classes of mum types are illustrated and described. Many examples of each class are shown. Consistent show winners are included. This set will help in your identification of bloom types and forms.

Slide Set #8 - LANDSCAPING WITH CHRYSANTHEMUMS. This slide set is of much assistance in using our favorite flower to beautify homes and surrounding areas. Beginning with planning suggestions, the show goes into steps showing planrung and care of the beds during the growing season. Also there are many pictures of gardens, both amateur and professional, with comments on each. Some Chapters have Landscape Garden competitions, and Set #8 will interest those who participate in these challenges.

Slide Set #9 - NEW INTRODUCTIONS AND OLD FAVORITES. This set assists members to choose new cultivars, as well as the old ribbon-winning chrysanthemums for their gardens. It illustrates all bloom types and shows many of the early, large-blooming English cultivars which should do well in cooler areas and for early shows. There are groups of sprays as well as disbuds-all adding up to an excellent program.

Slide Set #10 - HOW THE LARGE COMMERCIAL GROWERS RAISE MUMS IN FLORIDA. The brainchild of Howard Beals, who contributed the slides, this program shows the operations of several large commercial firms that produce cuttings, potted plants and cut flowers for garden centers and florists.

Slide Set #11 - ARRANGEMENTS FEATURING MUMS. Assembled and organized by Vera Bayles, Past Pres. of NCS and chairman of the Committee on Flower Arrangements. Mrs. Bayles said of this set, "Flower arrangements, like fashions, change with the passing of time." For that reason, she has recently updated the entire program and commentary to include the newer trends in flower arranging. In this program, chrysanthemum arrangements of different types are shown: conventional, which covers the line; massed line and mass; and modem, covering abstractions, stabiles, and freeform. A show that every chapter should see.

Slide Set #12 - THE MAGNIFICENT CHRYSANTHEMUM. This set was presented at the Tokyo International Show by Joan Corbisiero on behalf of NCS. It contains many slides of gardens throughout the U.S. in which mums are used in profusion. The theme of this set is to show how we here use the chrysanthemum to beautify our homes and private areas. There are many really striking gardens shown in this program which should make us all proud of our efforts.

Slide Set #13 - BONSAI. This set shows many examples of this form of mum culture and gives instructions on how they are grown. If you are interested in Bonsai, you will get some good growing ideas. This set was assembled by Charles R. Hendry, former NCS Treasurer

NOTE: Slide Set #13 is not longer available. It was lost..
